Trip Itinerary

Day 01     Arrival Kathmandu

As you arrive at Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. A briefing shall be given to you by your tour leader.

Day 02 Boudhanath/Swayambhunath

In the morning, after breakfast you will head off to Boudhanath. Boudhanath is a massive Stupa which lies in the outskirts of Kathmandu about 11 km away from the city centre. It is believed that this stupa was built by the Lichchhavis but many historians disagree on this fact. This dome shaped Stupa represents the mind of the Buddha and is today one of the most significant pilgrimage destination for Buddhists.

After visiting Boudhanath, you shall visit Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in Nepal. People have been praying at this place more than two thousand years. This great temple lies atop a hillock within the valley. Many believe that the Lichchhavis constructed the stupa but no one is really sure. Its establishment and construction is shrouded in the mists of time. The Swayambhunath complex consists of a giant Stupa, a large ensemble of shrines and temples, and also includes a Tibetan monastery, a museum and a library. This site has two access points: from the east there is
a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance.
You will return back to the hotel in the evening.

Day 03     Kopan Monastery

The Kopan monastery lies to the northern side of Boudhanath. It is on a hill rising up out of the terraced fields of the Kathmandu valley and is visible for miles. The Kopan Monastery was established by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rimpoche in 1970 as a center of Buddhist Teachings. In the evening you will return back to Hotel.

Day 04     Lumbini

Today you will take a flight to Bhairawa.  A drive of about 13 km from the Bhairawa airport will take you to Lumbini. Lumbini is famous because it is the birth place of Prince Siddhartha who later renounced his material life and became Buddha. Lumbini is situated 25km east of Kapilavastu, the place where Prince Siddhartha grew up and lived up to
the age of 29. Lumbini has numerous Buddhist temples. There is the Mayadevi temple among others. Nearby, there is the Puskarini pond and the remains of the Kapilvastu palace. The other places to visit here are the Lumbini Dharmodaya Samiti Dharmashala, a Theravada Buddhist Vihara, established in 1956 and the Dharmaswami Maharaja Buddha Vihara, a Tibetan Gompa.
