Sarangkot Hiking

The hill of Sarangkot is perched high above the valley of Pokhara, and it commands an astounding view of the Annapurna (8091m/ 26,545ft), Manasalu (8165m/ 26,781ft), Ganesh Himal (7446m/ 24,422ft), Dhaulagiri (8167m/ 26,795ft), Machhapuchare (the sacred mountain) and 25 other mountains over 6000 meters (19,680ft) high. There are also great views of the Pokhara valley from here. We begin this trip from Kathmandu and then move to Pokhara and then begin our hike up to Sarangkot from Naudanda. After enjoying a beautiful sunrise from Sarangkot, we return back to Pokhara. The trip ends back at Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Our representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel on your arrival. A briefing shall be given to you by your tour leader. You stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

Today you will begin with a half-day sightseeing tour of the Pashupatinath Temple which is considered the holiest temple for the Nepalese and is situated at the banks of the Bagmati River. You will also visit the Bouddha Nath and Swayambhunath Stupas, revered by both the Buddhists and the Hindus alike. The sightseeing will continue till the evening. You stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Pokhara

You will take a 30 minute flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful town in western Nepal which has been constantly attracting tourists over the years. The landscape all along the road there is a continual delight for the eye as you traverse through wonderful rock canyons and rivers, undulating hills, terraced paddy fields, and striking views of the Himalayas as its backdrop. You halt overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 4: Sarangkot

After breakfast, you will driven to Naudanda. The drive will take about an hour. From here, you will begin your hike to Sarangkot. You first walk past some villages inhabited by the Chhetri and Brahmin communities. After a steady walk for about 3 hours, you can reach Sarangkot. Sarangkot offers breathtaking views of mountain peaks like the Annapurna, Himalchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Lamjung Himal. You will halt overnight at a lodge in Sarangkot.

Day 5: Pokhara

The statrs early in the morning to witness the sunrise. Sarangkot is well known for its sunrise as it gives a great view of the radiant sun upon the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri mastiff. After breakfast, you will walk down to Pokhara. This will take you about 3 hours and you check into a hotel in Pokhara for overnight stay.

Day 6: Kathmandu

Today, you will fly back to Kathmandu and check into a hotel in for overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure

Transfer to the airport for your departure.
